OOCC Help Wounded Warriors Paddle  E-mail

Hawaiian Wounded Warriors Program gratefully receives OC-4 from Oceanside Outrigger Canoe Club

Those of us who date back a few years remember the orange OC-4, stored up against the fence in our boatyard. (That was back when we had a boatyard!)  You probably never saw it in the water.  The OC-4 was given to OOCC, and is intended for riding the surf, which we aren’t allowed to do in Southern California.  So the OC-4 sat there unused for many years, the worse for wear, exposed to the elements.  Even after OOCC’s move to the sand, the OC-4 sat next to the beach wall unused.

The OOCC Board asked Larry Bangert if he could raise money for the club by selling the canoe.   He placed on item on the SCORA website, but had no takers.  He did get an inquiry though, from the Kailua Canoe Club’s Wounded Warriors Program in Honolulu.
